The EUR/MXN currency pair's exchange rate sees fluctuations on the release of important economic data from the Eurozone and Mexico, including GDP, CPI, employment, retail sales, trade balance, PMI readings for the manufacturing and services sectors, business confidence and industrial production.
Changes to monetary policy and interest rates by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Banco de Mexico also cause changes to the value of the EUR and the MXN respectively. For instance, when the ECB tightens its monetary policy or hikes interest rates, the EUR strengthens, turning the EUR/MXN currency pair bullish, and vice versa.
The EUR/MXN touched a high of 27.8899 on 6 April 2020. This is the strongest level this currency pair has traded at so far this year.
