Trump Announces Agreement with Harris to Hold Presidential Debate in September

Trump’s Team Advocated for Repeating the System Used in June, During the First and Only Debate with the White House Occupant, Joe Biden, Who Was Then the Virtual Democratic Candidate for Re-election.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he has reached an agreement with Vice President Kamala Harris to finally hold the debate on September 10 on ABC, after both candidates’ teams disagreed in recent days about how the microphones would function during the face-off.

Trump’s team advocated for repeating the system used in June during the first and only debate with the White House occupant, Joe Biden, who was then the virtual Democratic candidate for re-election. In that debate, microphones were only open for the speakers.

Harris’s campaign, however, initially favored keeping the microphones always open, which increases the likelihood of interruptions between the two candidates.

Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that there is now an agreement with “the radical left Democrats” and that the same rules as in the June debate will be applied, “which worked well for everyone except, perhaps, for the corrupt Joe Biden.”

The Republican magnate took the opportunity to remind that he is still willing to hold another debate on September 4, under the conservative Fox News network, and a third debate proposed by NBC.
