Bitcoin Stabilizes at $65K – BTC Founder Satoshi to Be Revealed?

Bitcoin retreated around 47,000 lower early this week, but it has stalled above $60K and news of BTC founder revealing the identity didn’t move it much. Stock markets on the other hand retreated as the risk sentiment turned negative again, but the losses were minimal.

Bitcoin stabilizing after the retreat

Despite reports that Bitcoin’s creator might have revealed his identity, US indices were little changed today. The S&P500 and other major indices were flat, as risk-averse sentiment returned to the markets. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, combined with anticipation of tomorrow’s US NFP jobs report, weighed on market sentiment, causing declines in many US stocks.

Meanwhile, a new HBO documentary set to premiere Wednesday is expected to reveal the real name of BITCOIN creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin’s price was only slightly affected by the news. In the lead-up to the documentary, several high-value Bitcoin wallets from the “Satoshi era” became active for the first time since 2009.

Approximately $15 million was moved from these wallets, which have been inactive since Bitcoin’s early days when its value was nearly zero. Though these wallets haven’t been definitively linked to Satoshi Nakamoto, they likely belonged to early associates of the Bitcoin creator.
