Yuga Labs Introduces New CEO and Upcoming Projects
Yuga Labs has been in the limelight after encountering legal actions along with numerous celebrities over the Bored Ape Yacht Club. But despite the recent lawsuit against Yuga Labs’ BAYC (Bored Ape Yacht Club), it doesn’t get in their way to continue to set fire to becoming more successful on the metaverse.
Yuga Labs was originally founded by two close friends Wylie Aronow and Greg Solano who teamed up with their amazing college and childhood friends to make the project to life. Over the years, they continued to expand by launching different NFT projects such as CryptoPunks and Meebits and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
Along with Yuga Labs’ success, a new CEO was appointed on Dec 19 to help them merge all of Yuga’s collector community and aim to build an “immense Web3 world”. Daniel Alegre, the newly appointed CEO of Yuga Labs was the former president and COO of Activision Blizzard. This is why his expertise in gaming would be a great fit for his role in bringing Yuga Labs to great success.
In April, Yuga Labs announced the launch of the “Otherside”, a game-based interoperable metaverse where players are able to create their own land and turn their NFTs into playable characters. Since its launch, Yuga Labs have made almost $320 million in direct sales after selling 55,000 Otherdeed NFTs.
For now, the next upcoming projects of the Othersidemeta remain undisclosed but Yuga Labs has teased another collection called “Kodas” that is embedded into other Otherdeed NFTs.
