Burger King Gets Into NFTs as Part of Latest ‘Keep It Real Meals’ Campaign
Burger King is the latest big brand getting in on the NFT craze, announcing a collaboration with Sweet to launch its very own large scale NFT campaign. The foray into the NFT space is the next phase of the fast food giant’s campaign ‘Keep It Real Meals’ for which the brand has roped in popular artistes Nelly (Cornell Haynes Jr.), Anitta (Larissa Machado) and LILHUDDY (Chase Hudson).
As part of this campaign, Burger King’s Real Meals NFT will feature QR codes on almost six million meal boxes, which customers can use to unlock three different kinds of digital collectibles. Collecting all NFT game pieces will allow them to unlock bonus NFTs, which will feature exciting utilities, including a call with any one of the celebrity artistes.
Burger King’s customers will have the option to choose from three Keep It Real Meal boxes which have been curated by Nelly, Anitta and LILHUDDY from outlets that are participating in the campaign. They will then need to scan the QR code on the box to access the NFT game pieces among one of three variations among one of three collectibles from the range. Upon gaining complete access to the same variation of each collectible NFT game piece, users will be rewarded with a fourth NFT which will include prizes such as 3D Burger King digital collectibles, free Whopper sandwiches for one year, autographed swag from the celebrities and even an opportunity to get on a call with them.
To participate in the NFT campaign, customers will need to create an account with Sweet.io’s NFT marketplace – a platform known for letting celebrities offer unique limited edition digital merchandise to their fans. A few months ago, the Sweet announced an integration with the Shopify marketplace to offer brands, store owners and IP holders an opportunity to sell NFTs through existing online store-fronts, expanding the reach for digital collectibles and driving their mainstream adoption.
