McLaren Racing Launches NFT Collection on Tezos Blockchain, to Captivate Over 87 Million Followers
As influential brands began joining the NFT craze, McLaren Racing saw this as an opportunity to further engage with their massive number of supporters around the globe. McLaren Racing Collective is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection that grants fans various options to own a piece of McLaren Racing for an extended period of time.
The energy-efficient Tezos (XTZ) blockchain will serve as a shelter for the NFT collectibles. Tezos is a partner of NFT Solutions provider Sweet, therefore, McLaren will become one of Sweet’s partners, which also include Burger King, National Basketball, Lil Pump, Pentatonix and more.
The first NFT drop will enable Formula 1 fans and even blockchain supporters to collect different MCL35M 2021 Formula 1 race car components. McLaren will give the first set of these components to the first 5,000 fans who join the collective platform for free. The NFTs will be dropped in five stages, and the first four stages will commence on Sunday, October 24. Every NFT part of a McLaren racing car will have its own unique features, and collectors will be able to construct a total of 35 complete NFT cars.
The first individual to assemble a full MCL35M 2021 F1 race car will win a VIP trip to a 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix. This strategy by McLaren is an impressive way to boost its fan experience, by giving them an exciting opportunity to have a piece of McLaren Racing through an innovative NFT platform. This will also make room for more in the NFT space, as the NFT collectibles were introduced to the huge Formula 1 fan base.
